Warm Summers
June through August brings highs in the low 90s with plenty of sunshine. Pack light and stay hydrated.
Mild Winters
December through February stays mostly in the 50s and 60s. Cold snaps happen but rarely last more than a day or two.
Spring Shoulder Season
March through May is warm, breezy, and less crowded. Temperatures climb from the 60s into the low 80s.
Fall Is Underrated
September and October cool off from summer but stay beach-worthy. Water temps stay warm well into fall.
High Humidity
The Gulf keeps things humid year-round. Evenings on the water can feel sticky even when the temperature drops.
Sea Breezes
Afternoon winds off the Gulf make summer heat more bearable, especially on the beach and open decks.
Rain Year-Round
Galveston gets around 50 inches of rain a year. Summer afternoons can bring quick, heavy showers that clear fast.
Hurricane Season
June through November is hurricane season. Most storms miss the island, but it's worth watching forecasts closely.
Best Time to Visit
Late April through June and September through October offer the best balance of warm weather and smaller crowds.
